Honolulu, HI-based Pasha Hawaii has announced that its fleet in the Hawaii/Mainland trade was recognized with Certificates of Environmental Achievement by the Chamber of Shipping of America for operating a total of 68 years in environmental excellence.

And this week, the first LNG-powered container ship to refuel on the West Coast called at the nation’s second busiest port, marking a major milestone toward greener operations.

Pasha Hawaii and the Port of Oakland today announced the inaugural call of the MV George III to the Oakland Seaport, the gateway for containerized ocean cargo shipments in Northern California. The George III is the first Liquefied Natural Gas (“LNG”) powered vessel to call Oakland. The 774-foot LNG-fueled containership was built in Brownsville, Texas by Keppel AmFELS, and is the first of two new ‘Ohana Class vessels to join Pasha Hawaii’s fleet, connecting the West Coast and Hawaii.

Pasha Hawaii was recognized for consistently making safety a priority at the Chamber of Shipping of America (CSA) Annual Devlin and Safety Achievement Awards on June 30, 2022 in New Orleans. Twenty-four companies attended the event with well over a hundred attendees to celebrate seafarers and companies of 1167 vessels with over 7801 years of operation without a lost time incident.
