The Pasha Group’s acquisition of the Hawaii trade-lane business of Horizon Lines, Inc. (Horizon) was completed today. The Pasha Group, one of the nation’s leading Jones Act shipping and integrated logistics companies, has served the Hawaii market for more than 50 years, adding roll-on/roll-off liner service between the Mainland and Hawaii in 2005 with the M/V Jean Anne.

Pasha Hawaii employees gathered at Pier 1, Honolulu Harbor this morning for a Hawaiian blessing and celebratory luncheon, marking the much anticipated arrival of M/V Marjorie C. Pasha Hawaii’s new addition is a combination container/roll-on/roll-off (ConRo) vessel which represents a total $200 million commitment from the company into the Jones Act trade.

Honolulu-based Pasha Hawaii today announced that the M/V Marjorie C has arrived to begin her maiden voyage from the Port of San Diego, California to Honolulu, Hawaii. The new Marjorie C is a combination container/roll-on/roll-off (ConRo) vessel which represents a total $200 million commitment from the company into the Jones Act trade. The ship sails under the name Marjorie C in honor of Pasha Hawaii’s President and CEO George Pasha, IV's grandmother, Marjorie Catherine Ryan.

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has cleared The Pasha Group’s acquisition of the Hawaii trade-lane business of Horizon Lines, Inc. (Horizon). The clearance paves the way for an anticipated final closing before the end of the second quarter. The Pasha Group, one of the nation’s leading Jones Act shipping and integrated logistics companies, has been serving the Mainland/Hawaii trade lane since 2005.

This important step leaves only the final milestone for the ConRo (combination container/roll-on/roll-off) vessel prior to delivery to Pasha Hawaii.
